Back in May 2018, I had the pleasure of photographing Ben and Mali’s wedding at the Lionscrest Manor in Lyons, CO. It was a beautiful wedding and I am so glad they found me to be their photographer. I had actually been to this venue before as a guest and knew that this was going to a beautiful wedding and a fun one to shoot. Lionscrest is one of the best wedding venues I’ve seen and has a beautiful view of Lyons and the surrounding area. Ben, a game designer and developer, was smitten over his beautiful bride Mali. And although Ben is quite introverted, the smiles he had on his face that day were just priceless.
I could tell Ben was nervous as soon as I saw him that day. It’s his wedding day after all. He remembered me from our initial meeting a few months prior, but I could tell he had so much on his mind that he may have forgotten my name. I caught him waiting by himself, as if he was rehearsing his lines privately before a big speech. I went up to him and reintroduced myself and patted him on the back and reminded him that this day should be fun. Relax. Take a deep breath. And know that you’ll soon be hanging out with 60 of your closest friends and relatives all here to support you.

We had a perfect Colorado day and the outdoor wedding ceremony was underneath the hot Colorado sun. I hope everyone brought sunscreen! And because it was a Sunday wedding, the wedding started earlier in the day and everyone was in direct sunlight. This made it someone difficult for photos but we made it work! he reception was fun and the DJ did a great job getting everyone on the dancefloor.
