I love being a Denver photographer and having so many beautiful places to take family photos in the mountains. For this particular shoot, Rachael had reached out to me to get some family photos of them while she was in town from college. The weather looked GLOOMY but this was absolutely the only day they could make work. And despite the weather, they turned out awesome! It stayed mostly dry until the very end when the rain came. The gloom is definitely unique but it made the mountains look so cool and their smiles and laughter kept the photos light hearted and fun.
We all had a great time! It’s so funny how dads can start a photoshoot with little enthusiasm and I can get them to really come out of their shell and have a great time. It’s one thing I love to do! I’ll usually find the most hesitant person in the group and try to get them to show me their personality throughout the shoot. It’s a fun little challenge :)
NCAR is a perfect place for family photos near Denver, sunny or not! It is close to Denver (about 40 minutes) and gives you a pretty dramatic mountain landscape. It features a pretty wide open field that looks amazing with the sun too. If you’re looking for family photos in the mountains, NCAR is a great spot that offers beautiful views close to Denver.
