I’ve been working with Office Ninjas for the past year and we originally met when I photographed their Denver Admingling event back in June of 2018. That formed a nice partnership with them and I went on to shoot several events and editorials for them all over the country. I’ve done two events for them in Seattle and this is the latest one I shot for them on July 31, 2019.
Office Ninjas supports the executive assistant and office admin community by providing content-rich publications and articles through their newsletter and website. They also host Admingling events in major markets in the US that bring office admins together to network and share stories about their jobs and how they can be better at what they do.
This particular event was held at ThinkSpace on Lake Union (West Lake, Seattle). It was a somewhat old looking building but the space was totally renovated and updated and had a great look and feel inside. It had an amazing view of Lake Union as well, with the water and boats literally right there. When I flew in from Denver that morning, I actually came right to ThinkSpace since I could not check into my Airbnb yet. They let me use the space as an office and let me leave my luggage while I went out and explored Seattle. The team at ThinkSpace was awesome!
Did I mention I freakin’ LOVE Seattle!! I’d love to start doing more work here either with portrait work or shooting more corporate events. And given how many tech companies there are in the area, I’m sure there are events going on all the time. Amazon has a huge campus in downtown and Google has just built a new campus there very close to Amazon. Obviously Microsoft is huge there and Facebook also has a campus.
I’ve only been to Seattle in July (both in 2018 and 2019 to shoot the Office Ninjas events) and I’m beginning to think they just made up this whole “rain” thing to keep more people from moving there because the weather has been beautiful both times. I love the Union Lake area and have had so much fun renting the Lime bikes and just riding around on the bike paths. It is such a beautiful place.
