I recently had the pleasure of doing family photos with the Smith family at Lookout Mountain near Denver, CO! What a beautiful family! We had a great time getting the kids to play along and have fun with this family session. Lookout Mountain is a great location for family portraits. It is close to Denver and has some amazing views of the foothills.
The Smith family rocked it! They did an amazing job with picking out their outfits. I loved the simplicity of the boys and girls, while mom rocked the floral dress which worked great in the area we were in.
These photos were taken in June and the grass was still pretty green up there. That worked well with the outfits! We had some cloudy weather but it made for some great soft light and the sun even peeked out right at the end!
I often prefer the more natural and candid style of lifestyle photography and I’ve been finding that more and more families appreciate the candidness of my work and the life that it brings to the photos. I love to capture kids laughing and having fun with each other. Getting parents to have a moments can sometimes feel awkward but always ends in laughter and great photos.
I’ve been having a blast with family photos lately, as every session is different and it’s always fun to see the personality of the kids and get them to do something fun. If you are interested in doing family photos at Lookout Mountain, the best way to get there is to take I-70 West and take the Lookout Mountain exit. Proceed to Lookout Mountain Road and continue on until that. The parking lot I like to use is right after Panorama road on the left side of the road. There is a parking lot there and a mountain bathroom in case you need it.
