I’ve been doing a lot more personal branding photoshoots in Denver lately and have been loving them! More and more people are venturing out of the corporate world, much like I did, and pursuing their passions and interests and it’s awesome to see! Personal branding shoots might be my favorite type of shoot to do and as a Denver photographer, I get to explore the city with my clients. They are creative and fun and it’s all about showing off that personality… more so than what we can typically do with headshots or something more business related.
I’ve worked with Keri for her daughter’s senior photos a few years back and we had so much fun that she reached out when she was ready to do her own photoshoot! She’s starting her consulting business that’s centered around working with this next generation of kids and it was fun to hear her thoughts and experience working with Gen X and Y and how different generations can work better together in the same workplace. Keri’s smile shined in this photoshoot and I did my best to try to bring that out of her… it wasn’t hard! She did awesome and we had a lot of fun.

For this Denver photoshoot, we chose the Performing Arts Complex in Downtown Denver. It offers so many different looks and textures to use as a backdrop and I think it worked perfectly for Keri and her vibe. We got some good urban looks with murals and lots of good colors. There’s also Larimer Square down the streets, which offers back alleys, brick walls, and fun retail storefronts. Parking is also usually very easy in this area and you can typically park in the garage. The Performing Arts Complex itself is open air, but has a cover over it. So even in the winter time, you can avoid big piles of snow and icy sidewalks.
I think everyone can benefit from a personal branding photoshoot. Today, your online presence is so important. Even if you work a corporate job, it’s important to maintain your own personal brand for recruiting and future work opportunities. And if you are at all interested in doing your own thing, you’ve got to be able to sell yourself and photos are what makes the first impression.
