The 13,000 and 14,000 foot peaks of Colorado are nothing compared to what Yun has climbed. Having climbed to the top of Everest, Yun has been to the highest place on earth. So when he reached out to me and told me he wanted to hire me to capture him in his element, I knew this was going to be a fun photoshoot. I don’t market myself as an outdoor adventure photographer, mostly because the market is relatively small for people willing to pay for that kind of shoot (unless you’re doing photoshoots for Patagonia or North Face catalogs).
Yun just moved to Colorado 6 months ago and when he went over Loveland Pass for the first time, he knew this was the spot he wanted to do his personal branding photoshoot at. It’s perfect because you can drive up to 12,000 feet and simulate high altitude climbing or skiing without having to do any of the work of getting up there.

These little husky puppies were not part of the shoot, nor did Yun own them. Some random guy at Loveland pass had them and I had to take a picture of them :)
CREATING A PERSONAL BRAND
Yun was looking to create some content for his social networks and online presence. Showing off your passions can be a great way to build your brand and show off the things that make you unique! Yun works in IT but his passions lie with mountaineering and all things outdoors, so this was a perfect way to show off his love for the mountains.
I’ve been wanting to get more into adventure lifestyle photography because it resonates with me personally and gets me stoked. I’ve shot several friends climbing and mountain biking, but a mountaineering styled shoot took things to a whole other level and I’m so glad Yun found me to carry out his vision!
